A guy experiences a dreadful love triangle which leads to him expressing his anger in different factors with social media.
The name of the game for micro-budget filmmakers and web series producers is telling a compelling story with whatever resources that the filmmaker has available. Written, directed, and edited by Malcolm Carter, Filthy Prelude, a new web series from MCP Network, does just that. Through not much more than dialogue and some text message graphics, we get a suspenseful story with cliffhangers that make this a very binge-worthy series.
Shot partly in a found-footage style and partly in a more traditional cinematic style, we are introduced to Bruce Walker (Malcolm Carter), a man who has recently been an unwitting participant in a love triangle. He’s written a novel about his relationship with a woman named Veronica and published it online. Definitely an interesting premise, and even more so as the story unravels and details about the relationship emerge. I’ve only seen the first three webisodes, but I will make sure to keep up with the weekly installments, and binge watch the series when the whole things is uploaded. Filthy Prelude is highly recommended viewing. - Patrick King
